Fees & charges

The Friendly Society Private Hospital is a private hospital, providing healthcare services to patients who have private health insurance or who are self-insured/funded.

What your Private Health Fund covers

Your private health insurer may cover up to 100% of hospital charges such as accommodation, theatre fees, prosthesis, physiotherapy and perhaps some pharmacy costs. If prior to admission you have not already checked your level of cover we encourage you to do so, particularly if you have recently joined or upgraded your level of cover. Upon admission, you will be required to pay any excess not covered by your fund.

To simplify your account process, the Friendly Society Private Hospital may claim your hospital account directly from your private health insurer. Your private health insurer, with your consent, will send the payment directly to the hospital to be credited against your account.

Payment of fees not covered by your health fund will be required upon discharge from the hospital.

Self Insured/Funded

If you do not have private health insurance please contact Patient Accounts for a cost estimate. The full amount is to be paid 48 hours prior to your procedure.
