Consumer Representatives

Feedback from our consumers and our local community plays an integral role in ensuring high standards of care is delivered to our patients, their families, and all visitors to our facility. It also assists us to achieve our mission of being the hospital of choice for friendly quality healthcare in the Wide Bay region.

There are two ways in which Consumers can provide valuable feedback and assistance to our hospital:

Consumer Advisors

Our Community Advisory Committee (CAC) plays an important role in the operation of our hospital through offering a consumer perspective to organisational decision-making.
The CAG includes representatives of the hospital’s senior management team along with members of our community and consumers of our services. They meet monthly to discuss and share ideas and feedback on patient information and organisational projects such as the hospital’s models of care, major building works and business development opportunities. We are currently reviewing the work of the CAC and the Terms of Reference for the work they do. Additionally, we are building a new Community Engagement Plan that will assist The Friendlies to continue to meet the needs of our community into the future.

Consumer Representatives

Consumer Representatives are community members, past patients, patient relatives and people with experience using healthcare services who are able to provide valuable insights and a voice for our community at the Friendlies.
Our Community Representatives are called upon to provide feedback about hospital operations and developments such as new service offerings, education, updates to patient and visitor literature and specific projects and improvement activities relating to quality, risk and patient safety at our hospital.
Feedback may be sought in the form of email feedback, surveys, or invitations to sit on working parties.
