Crofton Street works

Extra car parking now available

The Friendlies staff and patients are advised that additional car parking spaces are now available on Crofton Street after the completion of roadworks.

The works were undertaken to prepare the site for possible future expansion of the hospital.

Chief operating officer Andrew Smith thanked everyone for their patience.

“The works took longer than expected due to the many challenges being faced in the construction industry during and after Covid lockdowns,” he said.

“I’m pleased to let everyone know there are now 24 additional parking spaces, to meet the increased numbers of inpatients and visitors.

“Two of these parking spaces are allocated for people with reduced mobility.”

RMA Engineers Bundaberg prepared design plans for the site while the work was undertaken by Bundaberg Constructions and local contractors.

In the past few weeks, crews have completed the design including the roadway between Crofton and Electra Streets, kerb work, road surfacing and minor landscaping.

A barrier is in place to prevent through traffic in this section of Crofton St and parking spaces are available on both sides.
