Friendlies Foundation Charity Ball

Bundaberg set for a night of Hollywood glamour

The glitz and glamour of Hollywood is coming to Bundaberg on 4 March when The Friendlies Foundation Ball will be held at the Bundaberg Multiplex. Foundation Coordinator Julie Anderson said the Charity Ball will be a chance for people to dress in elegant gowns and dapper suits, enjoy each other’s company and revel in the elegance of Hollywood. “It’s going to be an amazing evening of glamour, fine food, premium beverages, and internationally acclaimed entertainment.”

RESPECT – The Aretha Franklin Story will be a highlight of the evening. The Respect Show stars Australia’s ‘Soul Mama’, Angie Narayan. RESPECT journeys through Aretha Franklin’s courageous life of love, tragedy, and triumph, while showcasing her greatest hits over the last 50 years. A mind, body and soul experience, RESPECT is guaranteed to get you up and out of your seat dancing! You can expect all your favourite hits like ‘Natural Woman’, ’Think’, ‘Say A Little Prayer’, ‘I Knew You Were Waiting for Me’, ‘Son of a Preacher Man’, ‘Chain of Fools’ with many laugh out loud moments!

The inaugural Friendlies Foundation Ball was held in 2021 where 400 guests enjoyed a James Bond Casino Royale themed evening, raising more than $130 000. All funds raised from this year’s Charity Ball will go directly to The Friendlies Foundation Accommodation Project, which is a two-story, 16-unit complex which will accommodate patients’ families, junior doctors, nurses, and remote staff. Work on The Accommodation Project is hoped to begin during 2023 and will be constructed adjacent to The Friendlies Hospital.

Tickets to The Charity Ball are $150 per person ($1500 per table of 10). Tickets include drinks on arrival, canapes, dinner, dessert and live entertainment. The dress code is elegant evening attire with black tie optional. “The ball will be a fantastic night” Julie said. “People’s support of The Charity Ball will bring us closer to achieving our goal of constructing our Accommodation Project which will benefit our community by keeping families together when travelling from afar to access treatment.”
