$1000 donation for new oncology chair tray arms

Oncology patients will rest a bit easier in the Friendlies Day Oncology Unit, thanks to the generous donation of Bundaberg and District Cancer Support Group for Men and Women.

The group, which offers support and friendship to people dealing with cancer, and their families, have donated $1100 to The Friendlies Foundation, which will be used to buy five tray arms to attach to the day oncology chairs.

The Friendlies Foundation public relations officer Fiona Macaulay said the hospital would be purchasing an additional eight chairs as part of the $700,000 day oncology expansion, which is expected to be completed in July.

“These tray arms don’t come with the chairs, but are essential to ensure our patients are as comfortable as possible while they receive their treatment.

“Every donation, no matter the size, will help so many people in our community as they fight cancer.

“The Friendlies Foundation can’t thank the Bundaberg and District Cancer Support Group enough for considering The Friendlies and helping us to provide these extra comfort items for our patients.
