New program to prevent falls

Friendlies Physiotherapy & Allied Health have launched a new program aimed at helping patients to prevent falls.

The Falls Prevention and Exercise Program focuses on standing and endurance exercises so participants can work on:

  • Upper Limb Strength
  • Lower Limb Strength
  • Core Stability
  • Balance

All classes will be supervised by both a physiotherapist and personal trainer, to ensure you get the most out of each class.

This class is great for people with

  • Pre and post joint replacement
  • Post fracture
  • History of falls/fear of falling
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Muscle weakness of the legs or feet
  • Reduced balance
  • General decline in mobility
  • diabetes
  • Numbness in legs/feet

Patients receiving NDIS funding, with allocation for therapeutic supports, may be eligible to claim classes under their NDIS funding. Speak to our staff for more details.

Classes are just $15, which may be claimable on Private Health Extras. We recommend participants attend 10 classes over 5 weeks.

Please note, that participants must have a physio assessment before starting the class. The cost of the assessment includes your first class.
The ‘Falls Prevention and Exercise Program’ times:

Monday 10am – 11am
Tuesday 9am – 10am 10:15am – 11:15am
Wednesday 9am – 10am
Thursday 9am -10am 10:15am – 11:15am
