High Tea raises $948 for Friendlies Foundation

It was a busy two days for The Friendlies community with a High Tea fundraiser on Saturday following the Golf Day. Nearly 70 people attended at HSG at the Gardens to support the hospital accommodation project. A total of $948 was raised. Donations were given by Rusty Gate Grove Winery and Bar, and Anastasi Blooms. Those attending enjoyed entertainment by violin duo Wendy Davis and Kate Hardisty, and top-quality food and beverages. Friendlies patients breathe easy

Two new state-of-the-art ventilators are now in use at the Friendly Society Private Hospital’s Critical Care Unit, providing high-quality, high-tech care for patients. The ventilators combine ease of use, flexibility and advanced features to deliver intelligent ventilation therapies, tailored to patient needs. Mechanical ventilation supports oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange, breathing for the patient when they can’t do it for themselves. Friendlies support Cambodia Vision

The Friendly Society Private Hospital is continuing its support of local medical professionals who provide life-changing treatment through the Cambodia Vision project. The Friendlies has been donating anaesthetic drugs since 2012 and this year is providing 60 boxes to assist Bundaberg anaesthetist Dr David Merefield, who departs for Cambodia on 2 December. Dr Merefield has been providing services at The Friendlies since 1997 and first went to Cambodia six years ago. This year he’ll be joined by fellow anaesthetist DrMore
