What?

The Orthopaedic branch of surgery is concerned with acute, chronic, traumatic and overuse injuries of the musculoskeletal system – most commonly arthroplasty for the knee and hip joints.  Services include Major joint replacements, Arthroscopic surgery, Shoulder surgery, Spinal surgery, Foot surgery, Cruciate ligament surgery, Endoscopic and Investigative Procedures and Hand Surgery.

Who?

The Friendlies has a modern operating theatre specifically set up for orthopaedic procedures.

Dr Richard Hocking, Dr Michael Delaney, Dr Dirk Lourens,  Dr Andrew McGee, Dr Anthony Murray,  Dr Chris O’Brien and Dr Jacob Van Der Westhuizen are leading Orthopaedic surgeons who operate from The Friendlies. Patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery are supported by our physiotherapists through personalised rehabilitation programs as both inpatients and outpatients.
